What happens when I have to follow a tempo that is not appropriate for me? I tend to feel uncomfortable, stressed, under pressure. Wether because it is too slow for me, and my impatience is rushing me, exciting my "hurry up" driver! Or because it is too fast for me, and I don't have time to think clearly, or to control what I am doing or what the team is producing. And when it is too fast for me, I am unable to enjoy the journey, I just rush and tend to appreciate far less what I am doing. Just because it is slightly too fast. Finding the appropriate rhythm is not easy. And we often tend to accelerate, without noticing it, especially when things are becoming difficult. Like a young violinist playing a difficult passage in a concerto: he will speed up in the passage, maybe with the belief that it will be over sooner if he accelarates.... but by doing this, he is making the passage even more difficult and stressful. So when things are becoming difficult, better slow down, take a deep breath, and smile. It will make it easier J * "Not quite my tempo!" Whiplash 2014
