Yesterday, one of the senior executives of a Spanish company was experiencing the activity of "conducting an orchestra". In front of his colleagues - themselves playing instruments for the first time - he realized how vulnerable he felt. Standing right in front of them, without any expertise in Music, and without knowing exactly what would happen and how, he felt completely vulnerable. And yet, he did a great job, empowering his musicians, listening to them and instantly adapting his leadership! When we asked him what had happened, he told us that it became suddenly all clear for him: this vulnerability was exactly where he could meet his teams and get them involved! Because he didn't know better than them, because he wasn't completely prepared, and because he felt vulnerable, he was able to listen for real, to ask for their support, to collaborate in a much more profound and authentic way than ever before! *Paraphrasing the title of this amazing TED conference by Brene Brown.
